This graphic novel is such an incredible book because the author was really able understand the story since it was a graphic novel. Having both the text and the illustrations in the novel really allowed you to get a great understanding of the characters emotions and thoughts in the story's plot. I feel that this was just an amazing book to read and really see a little girl's journey of finding herself while figuring out how to deal with having a hearing disability.

Two Informational Texts

Title: Penguins!
Author:  Anne Schreiber
Publisher: National Geographic Kids: Scholastic
Publication: N/A
ISBN: 9780545231626

This book is an informational text for younger children in the grade levels from 1-3. I think this book is a great way to get the children into the topic of arctic animals. Penguins are such interesting animals and children love to learn about them, I think this would be a great book to read to students in school and even do a project that they can create their own penguin after reading the book.

The book is a great way to tell the students about something new and different. Teachers should be able to have their kids to read the books because factual information is so very important.  It can be boring at times for kids to read informational texts, but being able to incorporate some time of project or activity will be fun and interactive.
